Hello everyone!
We celebrated Eric’s birthday 🎂 in an incredible place at the beginning of October 2023: the Domaine de Terre Blanche located in the Pays de Fayence (83).
As you know, during fine weather we love spending time at Lac de Saint Cassien (read the article on the subject); that’s how we discovered nearby Terre Blanche.
Whether you’re looking to enjoy a round of golf at 🏌️, be pampered at the 💆♀️ Spa, indulge in one of their restaurants at 🧑🍳 or simply take a break in the heart of nature 🌿, this magnificent resort is sure to please!
For those interested, here’s the story of our stay!
Friday, October 6: an arrival in the heart of nature
We left the house in the early afternoon.
To get back to Terre Blanche, you’ll need to take the A8 freeway from Tourrettes sur Loup or Vence for about 1 hour. Then simply take the Fayence exit and drive a few kilometers to your destination. Terre Blanche is located in the small village of Tourrettes (yes another village named Tourrettes 😀 but this one is in the Var department).
On arrival, we were blown away by the sheer volume: the resort spreads over 300 hectares! It has to be said that between the two golf courses, the 3200 m2 Spa, the hotel and its surrounding nature, Terre Blanche literally tilts you into a universe of its own 🤩!

As a historical aside, the estate was originally an exceptional property once owned by… Sean Connery! Subsequently, German entrepreneur and golf enthusiast Dietmar Hopp bought the property and designed the Terre Blanche resort.
But back to the point! After being greeted at reception, we discovered our pretty suite. The hotel has 115 suites and villas, and each one has been meticulously designed.
Each suite is 60m2 and features a lounge area, bedroom, dressing room, bathroom and large private terrace. All in a natural setting that gives you the impression of being alone in the world. Wonderful ❤️!

As soon as we’d settled in, we headed for Golf de Terre Blanche, which would delight any golf enthusiast (mine’s name is Eric 🥰 )! Here you’ll find: a training center equipped with the latest technology (putting Lab, Biomecaswing center…), a fleet of connected carts, a large clubhouse with proshop and restaurant…and of course two beautiful Golf courses.
After enjoying the driving range, we made our final tee-off on the Château course. Like the rest of the estate, the Terre Blanche golf courses are perfectly maintained and offer breathtaking scenery!

After this sporting escape, we headed to Le Gaudina restaurant for dinner 😋. That’s the advantage in this area, whether you want to reach the pool, the golf course or the restaurants, everything is within walking distance of your suite.
Le Gaudina is a refined restaurant offering Provencal cuisine. Here we sampled an antipasti with guacamole 🥑, pasta dishes 🍝 and two desserts of the day 🍰. Everything was very good, special mention for the bread (which we dipped in olive oil 🤪) and the chocolate dessert!

The hotel also boasts a Michelin-starred restaurant ⭐️ – Le Faventia – whose menu is created by chef Christophe Schmitt. Le Faventia is open from late April to early October.
Saturday, October 7: Spa, pizza and chocolate!
After spending a sweet night in our wonderful suite, we headed for breakfast 🥐. This is served in the Le Gaudina restaurant, which has a large indoor room and pretty terraces that are very pleasant during the day in autumn.
I highly recommend a visit, as the buffet on offer is insane and the quality/freshness of the produce truly incredible 😍! You’ll find delicious breads and viennoiseries, the day’s pastries, fruit salads, cereals, yogurts and a selection of savory dishes (potatoes, smoked bacon, omelettes, scrambled eggs…).

After feasting on breakfast, we headed for the hotel’s outdoor pool. I’m in danger of running out of superlatives about Terre Blanche 😄… but you should know that this infinity pool is simply the height of the establishment: beautiful and majestic.
It offers a beautiful panoramic view of the hills and has plenty of deckchairs and cabanas for lounging. There’s also a Jacuzzi and a children’s pool.
We put our towels down and even took a dip, as the water was always heated.

We then had a drink on one of the Gaudina’s terraces 🍸.

Finally, the Spa, another must-see corner of the Terre Blanche resort, is freely accessible to all hotel residents 😊.
Relaxation begins as soon as you enter the Spa enclosure, where you’ll find a large indoor pool, an outdoor bath with massaging jets, a sauna/hammam area, rest areas as well as a tisanière 🫖.
As it was our anniversary, we wanted to make the most of it and had booked a duo massage before our stay. I tried the signature beehive massage, with beeswax 🐝, and it was really pleasant!

When evening came, we headed for the center of Fayence to find a small pizzeria. It’s hard to explain, but we were in the mood for a good pizza 🍕😄!
We sat down on the terrace of the restaurant La Strega.

Then it was back to the hotel and off to Gaudina (again 😉 ) for dessert. Our choice was the chocolate moelleux with vanilla ice cream to share; it’s a pure delight and a must-try!

Sunday, October 8: Back to Tourrettes sur Loup
Time to head home!
But first, we couldn’t pass up Terre Blanche’s delicious breakfast 😉. That morning, we sat down on the Gaudina’s sunny terrace. The pastries are changed every day, so it’s a real treat!
As on the outward journey, we were home in less than 1 hour via the freeway. See you soon in Terre Blanche ❤️ !

Does Terre Blanche appeal to you 😀?
Please note: the estate offers a number of gift packages on their website, so take a look if the experience appeals to you.
See you soon!
Julie
